Deciphering the mechanisms underlying early-life stress and the development of Disorders of gut-brain interaction


We have shown that early life stress is linked to abnormal development of the enteric nervous system and chronic symptoms coincident with DGBI. Our current preclinical studies are focused on discerning the factors that lead to DGBI in males versus females and on the study of specific human-derived gut microbiota consortia to treat visceral pain.
